Watering can

A watering can is a bonsai tool used to apply water to a bonsai. It consists of a water reservoir attached to a rosette through a spout. The rosette is often finer, and the length of the spout is often longer than typical conservatory style watering cans to create the pressure necessary to create a fine spray that will not wash bonsai soil from the bonsai container through erosion.

The highest quality watering cans are made from stainless steel or copper, which develops a fine patina with age. Plastic cans are also available, and they work just as well, but should be protected from the sun's UV rays, which will cause the plastic to become brittle and crack.
