Vinegar is a mild, edible acid distilled from a fermented grain like rice, wine or malt. Vinegar finds use in bonsai applications to remove water spotting from pots, and lower the pH of water. The chemical component of primary interest in vinegar is acetic acid. Industrial vinegar can be purchased in bulk at janitorial supply companies.
