Bonsai soil

Bonsai soil is a planting medium used for growing bonsai in bonsai containers. The soil is made up of particles with the ability to retain moisture and support the growth of roots. The medium used for the growth of trees may contain no actual "soil" but rather be made up of a blend of manmade or organic materials like gravel, perlite, peat moss, vermiculite, volcanic materials like kanuma, akadama, hyuga or fir bark.
