Scythe

A scythe or sickle used for bonsai is a curved knife, usually serrated. Commonly used for trimming sod (sod cutter), scythes are excellent tools for repotting where they can be used to trim a layer of soil and roots with little effort.
Larger scythes of the type used to harvest grain (and Grim Reaper fame) find little application in bonsai.
