Phosphorus

Phosphorus, elemental symbol P, is the "P" in NPK. It promotes root growth and development. Organic sources of phosphorus include bone meal and bat guano. Inorganic sources are derived primarily from phosphate rock, treated with acid or heat to produce phosphoric acid.
