About Hon Non Bo
Hon Non Bo is a traditional Vietnamese tray landscape that consists of a miniature world of rocky island outcroppings with plants and trees, structures, animals and people (mudmen, with waterfalls that run into a surrounding "sea" full of boats and fish (often live ornamental carp). The plantings are designed to be admired from all sides, which makes them different from traditional bonsai which have a distinct "front".
Hon Non Bo may be quite large, weighing up to several hundred pounds and often grace the courtyard entrance of the traditional Vietnamese home.
