Dormancy
From BonsaiWIKI
Dormancy is the period of slow or no growth. Deciduous trees enter dormancy after their leaves fall in Autumn. Even so-called evergreen trees have periods in which they grow very slowly. The end of dormancy is often marked by flowering. Dormancy can be triggered by extremes of temperature or changes in day length photoperiod.
